Breakfast Centinelas I

Events

Last Thursday, December 4th, Centinelas celebrated its first Centinelas Breakfast, a new series of gatherings conceived to offer a space for reflection on topics of common interest, accompanied by a breakfast that facilitates an ideal atmosphere for open dialogue.

On this occasion, we had the intervention of Martin Versnel, former Deputy Director and Head of Cabinet at the NATO Resource Office, who provided an insider's perspective on the challenges facing the Alliance and the current strategic context. His contribution served as a starting point for an open dialogue among the participants.

During the conversation, relevant reflections emerged regarding the situation in Europe, especially concerning the perception of the war on the European continent. The need to maintain a critical reading of current events and to understand diverse perspectives in order to enrich our view of conflicts was highlighted.

Likewise, the importance of Europe moving towards greater autonomy, in terms of both security and strategic capacity, was underscored. Along these lines, the need for Spain to strengthen its preparedness, consolidate its contribution within NATO, and orient its industry towards a more demanding international environment was discussed.

This Sentinels Breakfast offered attendees a space for analysis where they could dialogue with a high-level speaker, who highlighted the importance of a more self-sufficient Europe, capable of understanding conflicts from different perspectives and better prepared to face future challenges.
